PAV - Postal Address Verification Service

ServMan PAV:  ServMan's seamless postal address verification system instantly validates addresses via the US Postal System when adding new accounts or when changing an address on an existing account.  The service also brands each location account with a latitude/longitude (geocode) that can be leveraged for location-related scoring when using ServMan's Capacity Scheduling or Auto Scheduling tools, Dispatch Board Proximity Views, Technician Location Audit Report and Fleetmatics GPS Integration.  Please contact your Account Manager for a demonstration of PAV capabilities.

NOTE: Core ServMan Wizards such as the Client Wizard have been updated to use PAV address verification, if enabled.  If your company is using a custom Wizard or any form of custom address verification you will need to contact your Account Manager for system review.  Adding PAV verification to an existing system may incur costs in addition to PAV implementation.

Overview

The ServMan PAV verification occurs when a client record is saved.  The system verifies the address using a proprietary algorithm to match the address entered by the end user and returning an address formatted to the requirements of the US Postal Service.  In addition to the address verification, the system will also GEOCODE the client record.

Upon saving the client record, the system will return a normalized address as shown below.  The user has the ability to either accept the proposed address update or accept the value as entered.

When does address verification occur?

Automatic Verification

Address verification automatically occurs in the following three scenarios:

1)      When a new client is added to the system

2)      When an address change is enacted on a client

3)      When an address is changed on a work order

Manual Verification

You also have the option to manually verify an address from the menu button in the client screen

How to Verify Existing Customers?

1)      Run the PAV – Address Update build procedure located in the System Procedures->System Config folder.  This procedure can be run for a batch of clients excluding those clients already GEOCODED as well as clients who have not had service since a specific date

2)      The system will return a list of addresses that can be either accepted individually, rejected individually or accepted/rejected in total
