How do I unlock an accounting period?

ServMan allows you to Lock and Unlock accounting periods as well as Close accounting periods.

Periods are Locked to ensure no new transactions are posted to a period, however there is no financial validation when locking a period. It is simply a quick way to block transactions from affecting the locked period.

Unlock a previous accounting period

1. Select Utilities -> Lock Accounting Periods

2. Select the period prior to the period you want to unlock and press OK.

This (re)locks the previous period, and it frees all the ones after that.

Periods are Closed to also ensure new transactions are not posted to a period however, this process DOES validate all financial transactions and posts them to your General Ledger. To learn how to Close a period, click HERE.
