Correcting Back Office and Help File display issues


Window 7 Back Office Display Issue

There are few windows where information in Servman is hidden by borders.  Windows 7 has a display setting that determines the width of the border on windows that was not present in previous versions of Windows.  You can reduce the border thickness to correct this issue by following the steps below.

  1. Right-click on the desktop.
  2. Select Personalize.
  3. Click on Window Color and Appearance.
  4. Click on Open Classic Appearance for more color options.
  5. Click the Advanced button on the right.
  6. Click the Item drop-down and select the Border Padding option.
  7. Set the size to 0.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK again.

Internet Explorer 10 Help File Display Issue

If you experience display issues with ServMan Help in Internet Explorer 10, pressing refresh should display your results.  If this does not work for you and you have proper authorization, update to Internet Explorer 11 or open ServMan Help in a different browser.  As a last resort, you may follow the instructions below to install a fix on your local PC.   

Issue

If you access Servman Help with the Internet Explorer 10 browser, once you navigate back from Index/Search/Glossary to Contents, you are not able to see the content in the right pane.   

Solution

A solution has been provided which you may install on your machine. Instructions for applying the solution can be found HERE.

NOTE: Please note that when accessing ServMan HELP through Internet Explorer 10, the JavaScript must be enabled for the fix to work. For the majority of users it is enabled by default but for some users, the JavaScript might be disabled.  To tell if you have JavaScript enabled and instructions on how to enable, click HERE.  

  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
  2. Click the Internet zone.
  3. If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level. Then do step 4
    If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
    a. Click Custom Level.
    b. In the Security Settings – Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
  4. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.
