If you decide to process credit cards from the field an approved Magnetic Strip Reader configured within SMAuthorize is also required. The Unimag II Mobile MagStripe Readers is the only card swipe currently supported. The swipe plugs into the audio port on the Android device. Note that certain device/carrier combinations may not be compatible for using the Unimag card swipe. Contact ID Tech for compatible devices and let them know you are using ServMan software as there is special programming that is required for compatibility.
You may check compatible devices here, but it is recommended to talk with ID Tech for final verification of compatibility between ServMan, Authorize.net, and your device. https://support.authorize.net/s/article/Authorize-Net-mPOS-Mobile-Application-VPOS-v2-Application-Tested-Devices or visit www.idtechproducts.com for the most up-to-date lists of hardware and software compatibility.
The only device currently supported is the UniMag II: https://idtechproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/UniMag_II_Datasheet_R0516.pdf
To purchase directly from Authorize.net: https://partner.posportal.com/authorizenet/auth/idtech-shuttle-two-track-secure-mobile-magstripe-reader.html - NOTE: If purchased from Authorize.net, the swiper is not returnable if it is due to a compatibility issue.
It is a good idea to store your card swipe on a lanyard in between uses.
This lanyard mount from Snow Lizard will stick to the back of your card swipe to keep it safe and always within reach. Just make sure you position it so it doesn't interfere with the swiping action or the ability to attach it to your phone.
It is also a good idea to keep your device enclosed in a protective case. There are numerous cases available for each device, some being thicker than others. Should you find that your credit card swipe does not fit fully into the audio port when the case is on, you will need to purchase one of the many port extenders on the market.
