Item conversion codes are used when you purchase items in a large quantity and sell them individually.
For example: If you purchase 5 gallons of Resin but sell it by the pound you would use the Conversion codes on Pg 2 of the Item setup to enter this information in.
First enter the Unit of Measure you purchase the item in. In the above example, it is Gallon.
If this Unit of Measure does not yet exist, click on the Picker button to the left of the field to create it.
Next select the Conversion Code from the drop down. If it does not exist, click on the Picker button to the left of the field to create it.
This is where you enter the information on the actual conversion. In the example below, I created a code called 1:40 to represent the 1 gallon to 40 pound ratio.
Select the From Unit of Measure and the To Unit of measure from the drop downs, then enter the factor for the conversion.
Since this Conversion Code takes into consideration the full equation, there is no need to enter a conversion code for how you sell it.
To proerly set up the item in this example, Pg 2 should look like this.
