Many industries use Flat Rate items to specify a pre-established price for a service being performed which includes both parts and labor. ServMan supports the use of flat rate components and includes a standard import allowing the import of a flat rate “book” that you have purchased from a third-party provider.
In addition to price control a flat rate solution also provides a means of managing technician productivity by allocating Labor hours to a task. Then, by tracking the time it takes a technician to actually complete the task we can manage their Billable Efficiency. The number of hours allocated to a task in your flat-rate setup used by the ServMan Technician Performance Report to as "Billable Hours". Factoring the actual time to perform the task against this value then provides us with a technicians billable efficiency.
Flat-rate items are a type of item setup in the software. In addition to assigning pricing and estimated hours you can allocate specific material requirements in the form of a Bill of Materials hat will be included when ever the item is used. The components may optionally be adjusted during use by your users.
Flat-rate items are NOT supported when using Pricebooks.
Flat rate selling prices are typically imported from flat-rate providers, however, the software provides a flat-rate recalculation procedure allowing you to maintain pricing internally.
